R U L E S
ENTRIES:
1. This page is hosted on FACEBOOK and therefore FACEBOOK terms and conditions regarding Photographs will be observed. No nudity, vulgarity or violence – nothing that would merit even a “Parental Guidance” warning. Should any photograph be deemed unsuitable, it will be removed and the member will be notified and warned – in serious cases the member will be removed without notification or warning.
2. There are three skill levels (Beginner, Skilled and Accomplished) in this contest, please upload your entry and in the comments section below add: a title; skill level and the basic photograph exposure information (Camera make and model; Aperture; ISO; Shutter speed; Lens focal length).
3. You may upload ONE entry per week, A photograph that has placed and is on display in our website gallery may not be entered again. Entries are to be uploaded from 01:00 Monday (or after the Album has been cleared on a Sunday - there will be a wall post to say that submissions are welcome) to 23:00 Thursday (GMT). Voting will take place from Monday to Saturday. Winners will be announced on the group Wall on Sunday and added to the web site – winning photographs will be available to view in the online Gallery.
4. Please observe the Themes for each week – although interpretation is up to the individual, voters who cannot see the link between your photograph and the weeks theme may decide not to vote for it.
5. Your entries should be your own work – i.e. you physically pressed the button and took the photograph. Photographs are copyrighted by the owners. Your photograph belongs to you and by entering it in this contest you allow us to transfer winning photographs to our website, where they will be stored indefinitely. Please do not copy photographs from this group or our website without seeking permission from the original photographer beforehand. Do not submit photographs of photographs or artwork, these will be removed. If the origin of your work is called into question we will request that you e-mail the photograph to one of our admins for closer inspection.
6. Basic editing is allowed, this includes cropping, straightening, sharpening, rotating, colour balancing, lightening, darkening, adjusting saturation, contrast and red eye removal. The editing must be consistent over the entire photograph. You may also change the (entire) photograph from full colour to Black and White or Sepia. Please retain the original photograph for the week of your submission, in case your editing is called into question. Do not submit watermarked photographs, you may include your name on your photograph as long as it does not detract from the image. No frames are allowed.
6.1 There are NO editing rules on Photographic Platform Edited!
7. Once we have uploaded the winning entries to our website, that weeks entries will be deleted, unfortunately this means that you will loose the comments related to your entry — I’d advise that you make a note of note the comments, before they are deleted.
VOTING:
ONLY page fans may vote, all other votes will be removed. You may vote for as many entries as you like, with a minimum of 3 votes per week, but only one vote per entry. We encourage you to vote and comment in each skill level, no matter where you have entered, you may vote even if you have not entered that particular week. You may not, however, vote for your own photograph. Please discourage family members and friends from joining only to vote for your photographs – we would like this group to be fair.
When voting, type:** VOTE**, and proceed with any constructive criticism regarding the photograph. If “VOTE” is not visible in a comment, it may not be counted.
If you do not want to vote for a photograph but can offer constructive criticism on the photograph, do so. “Constructive” means that something can be learned from the comment.
Voting will take place from Monday to Saturday. Votes will be tallied on Sunday and winners announced on the Group Wall and winning photographs transferred to the web site
Winning positions will be determined by the number of votes – in the event of a tie Admin votes will be removed from the photographs in question, and there will be a recount.
GENERAL CONDUCT:
By joining this group, you agree to abide by the rules. Fans will observe the rules at all times. Respect fellow fans and Admins at all times. Failure to do so will result in you being removed from the group.
Fans are encouraged to use the wall to pose questions, make general suggestions and suggest themes for the future. Admins will attempt to answer any queries within good time.
Admins and Fans free to accept and make friendship requests, although members are discouraged from voting for friends photographs – just for the sake of friendship – this is a learning platform, we hope to learn each step of the way, it’s a place to get honest opinions of your work. PLEASE KEEP IT FAIR!
Do not use obscene/offensive language on this group and make sure nothing you add to the group is inappropriate – we will remove you, your comments and photographs without notice if we see fit. You are responsible for anything you add.
